AS A PROTEST
WRESTLING HEAD RESIGNS MEN FROM OVERSEAS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Mr. J. D. Willis, who has been a member of the executive of the Dominion. Wrestling Union since it was formed in 1929 and its chairman for the past seven years, announced to-day that he had resigned from the committee. . Mr. Willis explained that although his relations with his former colleagues, remained wholly amicable he nad resigned as a protest against the decision to match overseas professionals .in the. Dominion this season. He was wholly in favour of amateur wrestling being given all possible encouragement and had no objection to the matching of local professionals. He considered, however; that in the present circumstances foreign wrestlers should not be brqught in to amuse the New Zealand public.
