AUGUST DELIVERIES BEANS IN DEMAND Auckland wholesale grocery merchant* report a fair volume of business during the past week as numerous orders wore coming to hand for execution on August account, the deliveries for which were commenced to both town and country yesterday. In the tobacco section, thr. new month deliveries will bo commenced to the country on Thursday, and in the city and suburban area on the following clay.
Tea.—The distribution ol various brands of tea packed from the shipment which landed recently in proceeding as rapidly as possible. Stocks ot several southern packings are not yet available, but most of the locally-packed brands have been distributed.
Malt.—Due to Increased costs of raw materials, the prices of one brand of malt and malt and oil have been advanced. Arrowroot.—Supplies have been short on spot for some time, but further supplies have now come to hand. Prices show no alteration. Beans. —Supplies of both haricot and Indian butter beans are now available In limited quantities. The demand at this time of the year is always at its peak. Cow Covers.—With the calving season now commencing, a heavy demand '.s being experienced from all districts for covers, and manufacturers are findIng it extremely difficult, to cope with the situation.
