AWARD TO MOTOR CYCLIST Arising out of an accident at the intersection of Edwin and France Streets, Newton, in May, 1939, when a collision occurred between a motor cycle ridden by Raymond Kenneth \aughan, sheet metal worker Grey Lynn, aged 27 (Mr. Goldmine) and a motor ear driven by A. H. Frost news runner, of Mount Eden (Mr v' K. Meredith), an ac'ion for damages was heard before Mr. Justice Fair and a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday in which Vaußhan claimed i'luOO general damages and £294 special damages in respect of injury he suffered. Liability and the amount of the special damages were admitted by defendant, and evidence was directed to assessing damages for the permanent disability and other discomfort suffered by plaintiff as the result of a broken left leg. After two hours consideration the jury returned a verdict for plaintiff lor £800 general damages in addition t<> the special damages claimed, and judgment was entered accordingly.
