REGIMENTAL BADGES
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The recent Order-in-Council restricting the wearing of badges was the subject of a question in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Roy (National, Clutha) asked the Minister of National Service whether he was aware that the order prohibiting mothers, wives, daughters and other relatives of members of the New Zealand armed forces from wearing or having in their possession, even in their own homes, without written authority, any regimental badge or emblem under penalty of up to three years' imprisonment or a fine of £200, was giving great offence to the relatives of soldiers, sailors and airmen.
Mr. Roy wished to know whether the Minister would cancel the Order-in-Council and introduce legislation in its place in order to fjive Parliament an opportunity of deciding the problem.
