Ald rod V D commander for the Auckland district a meeting of battalion commanders in the Auckland area was Meld yesterday afternoon. The following resolution was carried: "That this meeting of battalion commanders of the Home Guard in the Auckland area express their sympathy with Colonel Aldred in the unwarranted and ill-mannered attack made on him by the Minister of National Service, the Hon R bemple. and assure him of their continued loyalty and support in spite of the unsatisfactory conditions pert£ im ££ - in the Home Guard under the Ministry of National Service/' The meeting also decided to request guardsmen throughout the Auckland area to parade as usual ponding more satisfactory arrangements Doing made for the r.ciministration of the Home Guard
