CO. APPEALS
INFORMATION WANTED (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Information on a number of points affecting conscientious objectors was sought by Mr. Doidge (National, Tauranga) in a notice of question he gave to the acting-Prime Minister, Mr. Nash, in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Doidge asked: (D The number of conscientious objectors who have appeared before the Armed Forces Appeal Board in Wellington; (2) how many of these objectors are members of the civil service or are school teachers; (3) how many conscientious objectors in voicing their appeal indicated that they owed allegiance to neither God nor men; (4) what happens in the case of all those conscientious objectors whose appeals have been dismissed by the board; (5) how many whose appeals have been dismissed have been compelled ito enter the army; (6) what form of | alternative service has been devised for those whose appeals have been flowed.
