All Colleges Suffer Severe Raid Damage PRINCIPAL'S AXMAL REPORT Rec. 11.30 a.m. LONDON. July 22. Dr. H. L. Eason. Principal of the London I niversitv. in his annual report, states that damage to the I niversitv buildings in London has been severe and widespread The I niversitv College has been the greatest sufferer, having been repeatedly attacked with high-explosive and incendiary bombs. which destroyed a large part of the buildings and damaged, bevond repair 100.000 books. Kings College was damaged and the library and hostels severelydamaged. About a third of Bedford College buildings were destroyed byfire. Birbeck College was twios damaged, losing its theatre, many or the laboratories and equipment. Lesser damage was suffered by King's College of Household and Social Science, the Imperial College of Science and Technology, Westfield College, and the School for Oriental Studies. High explosive bombs severely damaged the London School of Hygiene, wrecking a large portion of it. Almost all the hospitals attached to the medical schools of the University were severely damaged.
