MOTOR CYCLING SCRAMBLE CHAMPIONSHIPS There was an attendance of over 1200 at Henning's Speedway, Mangere, on Sunday when the Auckland scramble championships were held. As a result, the funds of Group 5 in the Fighters' Mother Campaign benefited substantially by the total proceeds. The weather was excellent and competition was very keen. Included in the circuit was a hill-climb which beat most of the competitors at least once, since it had a grade of about one in two. without a long approach run. The largest mud hole, about fifteen yards in length, also caused the down-fall of many competitors, as the black, liquid mud was ISin deep in places. The length of the course, four laps of a third of a mile circuit, constituted a gruelling test for man and machine, and an outstanding performance of skill and endurance was given by Ron Seed, the well known cinder track rider, who won every event in which he was entered, including the 350 c.c. and Auckland open championship. The results in the different events were:— ( 350 C.C. Championship.—First heat: R. C. Soed f350 Velocette). I; C. H. Br indie <350 Ve.ocettej. 2. Second heat: S. Winterburn (250 Excelsior). 1; A.
