AMBULANCE FOR MINERS
An ambulance to be stationed in Pukemiro for the use of the mining community at Pukemiro, Glen Afton and Pukemiro Junction has been handed over. The ambulance was bought with money raised by a special queen carnival held in the district and donations of £50 were given by the Glen Afton, Taupiri. Renown and Pukemiro Collieries. To pay for upkeep and running costs the miners have agreed to impose a levy on themselves of 3d a fortnight.
