OBITUARY

MRS. MARY BASSKTT (0.C.) wanganW, this day. A foundation member of the Plunket Society at Wanganui, Mrs. Mary Bassett has died, aged 91. Mrs. Bassett came to Wanganui in 1874, her parents having arrived at Plymouth in 1841 in the Amelia Thompson. Her husband was the son of a pioneer family which came out in the same ship and was the successful tenderer for the construction of the Aramoho railway bridge over the Wanganui River. * She is survived by five children. IS grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1925.
