Millions In German Occupied

Countries

PASSIVE RESISTANCE URGED British Omoial Wirelo-s. (Rec. 5 p.m.) RUGBY. July 18. Announcing in a broadcast to the peoples of the occupied countries that Sunday. July 20. would he the date of Europe's mobilisation against the Germans. Colonel Brit ton stated that on that day the "V" army—Europe's invincible army of many millions— would come into being. Mobilisation should be carried out with the greatest discipline. It would begin at midnight and would continue throughout the day.

"The act of enlistment is simple." he said. "You are asked to do two things. One is to take a vow at the earliest moment in July and then to continue faithfully to fight the best way you can for your country's independence and honour, and that of the other nations enslaved by Nazi Germans. The other is that you are asked to take every opportunity on this day to demonstrate to the Germans the mobilisation of the 'V' army bv putting a 'V' on the walls everywhere you can, and by beating out the 'V' sound whenever you get a chance. I.et the 'V' be splashed from one end of Europe to the other."'
