BRIDEGROOM NOW TAKES NATIONAL LIMELIGHT

With the disappearance of Streamline from the National contests it appeared to be an even money chance that Birkolosjv would vie with Bridegroom for favouritism for the Grand National Steeplechase, and now that the former is very definitely under an ominous cloud there is no doubt about the name of the horse that figure most in discussions during the coming week. Owned by the well-known and really excellent amateur rider, Mr. K. McK. Duncan, Bridegroom in the 1938-39 season won the Hunt Club Hurdles and the Hunt Club Steeplechase at Ellershe the Mariri Hack and Hunters" Steeples at Trentham and the Hunt Cup over Grand National country in a row.
