IF WHEREABOUTS UNKNOWN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Advice has heen received from London to the effect that where the internment camp address or the prisoner-of-war number is not known letters for New Zealand soldiers definitely known to be prisoners of war in German hands, instead of being addressed care of New Zealand House. London, as formerly, should now be addressed care of Agence Centrale des Prisonniers de Guerre. Geneva, according to a statement by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, to-day.
The Minister added that this agency, which is an organisation set up by the International Red Cross, has the latest information regarding prisoners' whereabouts and undertakes to re-address letters for prisoners addressed to the care of the agency. In respect to prisoners in Italian hands whose internment camp address is not known letters may be addressed care of the Croce Rossa Italiana, f>. Via Puglie. Rome. The method of addressing parcels is not changed and these should continue to be addressed care of New Zealand House. I.ondon. In the case of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force who are reported missing but in respect to whom information has not been received, communications should still be addressed care the High Commissioner's Office. London.
