I SB fS and served four years in France m the last war. After being releuei from the raider I attended a hofpital for four weeks in Sydney ana was for nine weeks in Auckland Hospital. 1 then got a ship after doing a short voyage and was tola that we are not allowed to sail ' have been to sea all my life, except during HUMS. so am" deprived « my living, in the last four weds I have managed to obtain four du* work, although prepared to accept any job ashore, but would prefer the sea. even going across to England again. Rut to expect me, if I should be called in a ballot, to go on home defence I consider unfair ■when 1 am anxious to serve overseas. 1 think it is about time a little consideration was given to us unfortt" nate seamen who were taken prisoners.
