Mr. H. A. Craig left for the South this afternoon. Mr. J. Lobb, of Waitahuna, Otago, is visiting Auckland. Mr. E. A. Jones, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland, and will return South to-day. The Hons. B. Martin, Eliot R. Davis and J. E. Duncan, M.L.C. s returned from Wellington to-day. Mr. E. J. Phelan, No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, left for Wellington by train this afternoon. Mr. Justice O'Regan left for Hamilton yesterday to hold a sitting of the Compensation Court there to-day. Mr. .1. P. Kalaugher, secretary of the New Zealand Friesian Association. returned to Auckland vesterdav after visiting Otago. Canterburv and Manawatu. I-ieutenant-Colonel J. B. Davis, formerly of Queen Alexandra Mounted Rifles, has been appointed second in command of His Maiestvs New Zealand Transport. Lieutenant-Colonel S. I> Mason. N.Z.T.S.. has been appointed officer commanding troops and officer commanding His Majesty's New Zealand transport by (iazette notice. Mr. Hendry Luke, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, and Mr. H. Frater. a member of the board, returned from Wellington by ;hc Limited express this morning. Mr. P. C. Weenink has been appointed Air Secretarv in the absence of Mr. T. A. Barrow. Mr. Weenink will be a member of the Air Coard while Mr. Barrow is away. Mr. .1. M. Moohan, national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, arrived from Wellington bv the Limited express this morning and will return South on Sundav evening. Mr. F. J. Hoddinott, stationmaster at Whangarei. has been appointed assistant traffic manager a. Auckland.
