Housewives' Association.—Dealing with all phases of citrus culture. Mr. H. H. Booth, president of the Citrus Growers' Association, gave an address to members of the New Zealand Housewives' Association. , Mrs. C. James presided. A motion was also passed protesting against the use of sodium nitrate in preserving meat as being unnecessary and harmful, being used to colour the meat and mask deterioration * * * * North cote Plunket.—A successful social was held, at which a silver collection helped the funds considerably. Fowler, and Mrs. R. Martin were also present. * * * * Otahuhu Plunket.—At the annual meeting of the Otahuhu branch of the Plunket Society, the following committee was elected:—President, Mrs. G.
