BAKERS' PROTEST

HOSPITAL. BOARD ACTION Criticism of the attitude of the Auckland Hospital Board in dealing with tenders for the supply of bread to the hospital was made at a meeting of the Auckland Master Bakers' Association last night. The following resolution was passed:—"That this meeting of the Auckland Master Bakers' Association makes an emphatic protest at the attitude of the Auckland Hospital Board respecting the tenders for bread. The fact that the board discussed the price of bread to its institutions before the tenders had actually closed reveals a position that is not in accord with the proper policy of a public body."
