ATTRACTIVE WEDDING

MASLEN—HOGWOOD

HOSE-EMBOSSED GOWN St. Columba Church, Grey Lynn, made an attractive setting for the wedding of Gladys Rosina, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hogwood, of Grey Lynn, and John Albert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Maslen. The bride, who was given away by her father, made a pretty picture in her gown of white roseembossed satin, with a lace-trimmed heart-shaped neckline and shirred bodice and long sleeves coming to a point over the hand. Her shirred skirt formed a long petalled train finished with velvet arum lilies. A beautiful veil edged with lace formed a second train and was finished with a headdress of velvet arum lilies. The bride carried a sheaf of arum lilies, maidenhair fern and silvered leaves.

The bride was attended by her three sisters, Misses Phyllis, Eyelene and Rona Hogwood, who wore "frocks of apple-green spotted net over §reen taffetas and clover lace oleros. They were made with frilled skirts. Their bouquets were of roses, carnations and stock in shades of clover edged with silvered leaves. They wore green net circlets on their heads finished on top with clovershaded flowers.

In attendance as flower girl, little Betty Hemus. a niece of the bridegroom, looked charming in a clover-spotted frock over taffetas. She carried a silver basket of clovershaded flowers and wore a headdress similar to those of the bridesmaids.

The duties of best man were performed by Mr. Albert Worth, assisted by Mr. Theo. Boulton and Mr. Albert Britton as groomsmen. A solo.

"Because," was rendered by Mr. Lai Porter.

The reception was held at the Mount Eden tea kiosk, where the guests were received by the bride's mother, weal ing a navy blue crepe rochelle ensemble embroidered in silk, with a navy fur felt hat. A beautiful shoulder spray of autumn creeper and red roses was carried. The bridegroom's mother wore a grey frock and Clover coat with hat to tone and a shoulder spray of blue irises and maidenhair fern.
