PARLIAMENT TO-DAY

TRIBUTE TO FORMER MEMBER

WELLINGTON, this day.

After a caucus of the Government party to-day, the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, said that this afternoon formal business would be taken in the House of Representatives and tributes would be paid to a former member for Kaiapoi, Mr. A. W. Hawke, who died recently, after which the House would adjourn.

Mr. Nash said he was consulting members on the question whether the adjournment shbuld be until tomorrow afternoon or evening. He thought it likely that members would agree to the longer adjournment.

When the House meets to-morrow night, Mr. Nash will read the Budget and also the Estimates of Expenditure.
