MINER SEVERELY HURT

(0.C.) GREYMOUTH. Monday. Severe injuries were suffered this afternoon by Mr. Arthur Carson in the Wallsend mine, when a runaway truck jammed him against the buffers of another truck. Dr M R bneddon, of Brunnerton, entered the mine and had to amputate Mr Carson s left foot, which was crushed Mr. Carson also suffered injuries to his other leg and foot, and to his back and head. He was admitted o tne Grey Hospital.
