KING VISITS FACTORY
LONDON. June 11
The King visited a Ministry of Supply factory in the Home Counties which before the war was devoted mainly to the manufacture of perambulators and baby chairs, and which now makes small parts for one of Britain's fastest and most powerful fighters. His Maiesty was shown photographs of himself and the Duke of Windsor sitting in a chair made by the firm and taken 40 years ago.
He also visited specially-built shelter workshops where valuable new plant is installed and where work can go on day and night, even under blitz conditions.
