OTAHUHU FOOTBALLER
Reported in the list of missing is Gunner J. F. Bowman, whose mother is Mrs. F. Cutler, of 101, Newton Road, City. He went to the Grafton School, and was working at Westfield when he joined the Armed Forces. He was a well-known Otahuhu footballer, and 26 years of age A few weeks ago his mother received a letter from Greece. It was written on April 6. He said that he had spent the previous day, his birthday, in an ambulance, because he was sick, and added that he hoped soon "to be back in the hard work." — i
SAFE AND WELL
Sergeant Jack Bz-acegirdle, son of Mr. Arthur Bracegirdle, of 7 Heather Street, Parnell. has advised his father by cable that he is fit and well. Captain Owen Rracegirdle also of the N.Z.E.F., did not go to Greece and is presumed to be safe It will be recalled that a third son' Sergeant-Gunner Bracegirdle. was lost in air operations over Germany some months ago. after taking part in raids on Berlin.
