LIST OF THE "BLUES" AWARDED

The players participating in the New Zealand Universities' hockey tournament just concluded were tendered a complimentary dinner last evening, Mr. A. E. Playle, vice-president of the Auckland Hockey Association, being in the chair. In proposing the toast of "The Winning Team." the chairman welcomed the visitors to Auckland, and expressed the pleasure it save the local association to have the privilege of playing the tournament on Its grounds. Be also remarked on the full number of entries, as all the colleges were represented, and said that he hoped that the war would not enforce the cessation of the competition. The Seddon Stick, the trophy for the tourney, was then presented to L. H. Watson, the captain or the Auckland A team, who replied. Mr. s. G. White, chairman of the Auckland Hockey Association and president of the Auckland university Hockey Club, In proposing the toast to "Absent Comrades." said the tournament was notable for the fact that they met under war conditions, as evidenced by the number of old players absent. They were all proud of the way the boys had been acquitting themselves overseas, and he wished them a sate and speedy return. During the evening Mr. H. E.
