At. a special meeting of the Olen Eden Town Board on Thursday, Commissioner E. D. Bollard was appointed chairman. Mr. C. H. Martin was appointed deputy chairman and chairman of the works committee and Mr. F. Allen was appointed ftnatrman oi the finance committee. The chairman and deputy chairman were appointed delegates to the Auckland Suburban Local Bodies' Association. Board Meetings.—lt was decided to hold board meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each Appreciation.—A vote of thanks and appreciation was accorded the retiring chairman. Mr. J H. Harding, for his tireless efforts as chairman, and for his work on the Patriotic. E.P.S. and Home Guard committees. ~P osi Omcc.—Communications were received from the Postmaster-General and the Hon. Ho R Mason advising that, as a result of further consideration, it had been decided to erect a post office building at Glen Eden, and that the preparation of plans would be put in hand at an earlv date. The Postmaster-General pointed out that the post office had been moved into larger premises with Improved accommodation which should meet requirements until the proposed new building was erected. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to Mr. Mason for representations made by him in the matter. Bank Overdraft.—lt was decided to make application to the Bank of New Zealand for an overdraft limit of £2500 for the current year.
