OFFICER RETIRING

COMPLIMENTARY DINNER Tributes to the work of Major T A. H. Oliphant, M.C., at Papakura and Ngaruawahia camps, and latterly as commandant of the district school were paid by Brigadier P. H. Belli D.5.0., officer commanding the Northern Military District, and Colonel D. E. Bremner, M.C. officer commanding the Northern Field Force, at a complimentary dinner given last night prior to his retirement from the New Zealand Temporary Staff to resume ' his civil profession. Brigadier Bell expressed the hope that Major Oliphant would not be severing his connection with me army entirely, but that he would be able to accept an appointment in the Territorial Force.
