GAMING CHARGE
TOBACCONIST FIXED £20 When police visited the tobacconist's shop of William Klrby, at 89, Great North Road, they seized a ball machine and charged Kirby with using his premises as a common gaming house. In the Police Court to-day Kirby, for whom Mr. Hall Skelton appeared, pleaded guilty. Counsel pointed out that no youths played on the machine, which Kirby thought was a game of skill. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., imposed a fine of £20, and made an order for the confiscation of the machine.
