BRIDGE COLLISION
VERDICT FOR PLAINTIFF Arising out of a collision on Wiri bridge, an action by Horace E Bu<=h labourer, Waihi (Mr. Haigh). claiming from the Auckland Electric Power Board (Mr. West) £111 special and £250 general damages for himself and £35 special and £2000 general damages for a nine-year-old daughter was concluded before Mr. Justice Callan and a jury yesterday. The claim was based on alleged negligence of the driver of a Power Board truck causing the collision with plaintiff's motor car, whereby plaintiff received a temporary eye injury, and his little daughter facial injuries causing permanent scars. The jury found for plaintiff and awarded him £111 special and £25 general damages, and his daughter £35 special and £600 general damages.
