PAYMENT FOR PRODUCE
GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITY At least four other remits before the conference related to finance, and after a special committee had considered them the following two were adopted unanimously:— "That since it is at the instigation of the Government that the farmers have been put to great expense in making arrangements to increase production, it therefore is the considered opinion of this meeting that the Government is responsible for the payment for such produce." "That the Government should pay for butter and cheese on store warrant."
