PAPAKURA WORK . Many necessitous cases of distress 5 had been generously helped by gifts of food and clothing over the last 12 months, said Mrs. C. Baulf, honorary secretary of the Papakura Social Welfare League ' n her report at the annual meeting! Mrs. Baulf also said the league had taken action in cases where children were not being properly cared for <*nd that the league had been put in charge of the emergency precautions food and supplies for the district. The honorary treasurer, Mrs. J. A. Wishart, reported-a credit balance of £35. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mrs. H. E. McEntee; president, Mrs. J. Jarvie-vice-presidents, Mesdames J. R Wilson and E. A. J. Busing; hon. secretary, Mrs. H. C. Baulf; hon. treasurer, Mrs. J. A. Wishart; executive committee, Mesdames G. W. Lock (Plunket Society), W. Linden (Anglican women), D. J. Graham and W. Rankin (Presbyterian P.W.M.U.), H. D. Cronin (St. Vincent de Paul Society), W. G. Markwick and R. East (Methodist Ladies' Guild), Adjutant Mrs. Goffin (Salvation Home League), Nurse Tomlinson (St. John Nursing Division), ex-officio officers, the Mayor, Mr. S. Evans, and the clergy of the district.
