CARE OF RETURNED SOLDIERS
I wish to contradict a statement made by your correspondent, Stephen D. Eade. that I opposed a deputation from the Returned Soldiers' Association as regards fuller representauon on the Metropolitan Patrio«rC.£°,2ini,,w * the president = Jy,? Returned Soldiers' Association asked for 40 per cent representation e was told by ihe chairman that no organisation had official representation, although many of the members of the committee were resoldiers. I mentioned that anotner new ex-servicemen's associawf s being formed and if that ootiy also asked for 50 per cent representation trouble might ensue. xvas no vote on the matter, which was left in abeyance, and so Ir - Kendall has not made further application. As regards local assistance to returned men in Takapuna, I have been thanked upon numerous occasions by the executive of the Takapnna branch of the RSX and that is the- only body whidi can make an authoritative statement I • am not concerned with vour correspondent's opinion of rhv patriotic activities. j.
