PORT RETURNS

APRIL FIGURES

Compared with April of last year, the returns of overseas merchant vessels at the port of Auckland show that the same number of vessels arrived, but that there was a decrease of 24,735 gross tons. The intercolonial vessels showed an increase of two ships, but a decrease of 12,000 gross torts. Twenty-five overseas ships arrived and 26 departed. In all 10 British ships came to Auckland and the same number left for various ports. Six foreign ships were entered during the month and seven sailed. The Calliope Dock was engaged for 13 days by six merchant ships.
