TRAINS DELAYED

MAIN LINE BLOCKED GOODS WAGON DERAILED

Railway traffic on the Main Trunk line was badly disorganised this morning when a wagon of a goods train became derailed between Amokura and Whangamarino about 4.20 a.m. and damage was done to the track. The line was completely blocked for some time and the northbound express from Wellington, scheduled to arrive at Auckland at seven o'clock this morning, was delayed over three hours and did not arrive until shortly after 10 a.m.

The northbound Limited express was also held up and arrived at Auckland nearly three and a half hours later than the scheduled time of 9.30 a.m.
