PONSONBY BRANCH

The Ponsonby branch of the E.P.S. Women's Auxiliary held their monthly meeting in Leys Institute. Mrs. G. T. McLeod, lady team warden for the district, presided. An encouraging report was given regarding the progress being made in the equipping of women assistants with individual emergency first aid kits. It was stated that it was the aim of the organisation to eventually equip every woman worker with such a kit. When this had been accomplished further emergency cupboards would be set up in order to replenish kits quickly with supplies should an emergency arise. It was announced that arrangem<>its had been made for tea depots to be set up ii>~various parts of the district. A team of trained nurses had been formed; and sub-commit-tees were to go into the matter of uniforms and to arrange for a jumble sale for the purpose of raising funds. A demonstration of the uses of the various articles contained in the emergency kit was given by one of the nurses attached to the branch.
