Onehnnga Plunket.—The annual meeting was presided over by the Mayoress, Mrs. A. Garside. The nurse's annual report, showing a total of 6508 cases, indicated a very busy year. The following officers were elected:—Patrons, • Mrs. R. Buchanan and Mrs. J. Caswell; president, Mrs. R. Bissett; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. A. Liley and Mrs. J. Wildman; secretary, Mrs. A. Penny; committee, Mesdames R. Buchanan, H. Binsted, J. Cowell, D. Cuthbert, A. Garside (Mayoress), T. Geraghty, A. Houldsworth, L. Jones, A. Liley, J. Park, H. Ross, A. Straw. J. Wildman, Misses J. Bower and E. Bower. • • • • United Women's Movement.—Design in furnishings and other domestic appurtenances was the subject of Miss May Smith's talk at the recent luncheon. Beauty of form and suitability for purpose had been agreed on as the basis for good design, but many articles made for women's use failed to approach this ideal.
