The Australian Federal Government will have to provide for an expenditure of probably about £375.000,000 in the next financial year, equal to about £53 per head of the population, including children, says the "Daily Telegraph's' , Canberra correspondent? The total estimated expenditure for this financial year, ending <jn June 30, is £270,000,000.
To nico-t next year's expenditure increased taxation of probably about £21,000,000, and o huge borrowing programme will be necessary. War costs at home and abroad are expected to amount to £22">.000.000, compared with this vcar's £143,000.000.
