SUPERANNUITANTS MEET.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

A membership of 358, including sis honorary members, and a credit balance of £6 11/3 were disclosed in tbe annual report and balance-sheet of the Auckland branch of the Xew Zealand Railways Suiperannuitante' Association (Inc.). During the year ended March 31, 32 new members joined up, two were transferred to other branches, and eis?ht died.

The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr. C. W. Hollis, who was installed in office by the retiring president, Mr. R. A. Walker; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. H. Whitburn and A. J. Lowe; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. Ramebottom; hon. auditors, Messrs. C. L. Haoiann and W. L. Lancaster; committee, Meesrs. W. C. Moloney, J. T. Holmes, J. Dripps, G. S. Evitt, D. Knight, T. G. Glasgow and E. J. Guthrie.

The meeting agreed with the executive that the conference which normally would Jiave been held in 1941 should be deferred. Some memlbers expressed the opinion that there were some widows of deceased euperannuitants in the Auckland district who were not aware that they are now entitled to an allowance of £31 a year. The meeting decided that full prominence should be given to the matter.
