Margin of Nine Wickets—Fast Century by Paul Whitelaw.

By scoring 156 runs for one wicket in 65 minutes in its second innings, the Auckland representative side ran out easy winners by nine wictets against the Colls team, when the match was continued at Eden Park yesterday. An aggressi\e innings by P. E. Whitelaw, who scored a century In 62 minutes and was unbeaten with 101 wai chiefly responsible for the fast rate of rcorxng. Whitelaw had good assistance rrom his opening partner, N. Ellis, the pair registering the first 50 in 25 minutes. Ellis (32) left at 90, the total taking .45 minutes to compile. O. C. Cleal (20 not out) and Whitelaw did the rest and us outright win was secured with 35 minutes to spare Whitelaw hit 11 lours, tour threes, 10 braces and 25 singles.

The cricket was much brighter than that on the first day. The Colts, who were 103 In arrears on the first innings, made amends by totalling 255 for six wickets in the second, the Innings being declared closed at the tea adjournment. Leading the Colts' batting was the Mount Albert Gram, mar representative N. Sherer, who was unbeaten with 75, made by strong hitting all round the wicket. H. S. Mills ran to 66 chiefly with powerful straight driving, while D. Taylor, as opener played good cricket for 42, cover driving and playing his leg shots well. C. Snedden. who took five wickets for 30 in the first innings, was again the most successful Auckland trundler with three for 80.
