The mam Allied defence line (clotted) runs from the slopes of Mount Olympus, which towers above the Gulf of Salonika to Lake Ochrida in Albanii Main German thrust against this line is from the Yugoslav-Greek frontier to the south of Monastir, where they originally broke through the Yugoslav army which formed the left flank of the Greek defences.
