RACING AND TOURNAMENTS.
Lp till this morning Easter holidaymakers have experienced fine weather, yesterday being an ideal day that drew bip crowds to the various beaches and holiday resorts. A full calendar of sporting events had been arranged to cater for all tastes, the principal event, probably being the Auckland Racing Club s autumn meeting, which was continued at Ellerslie. The third day's play in the Auckland Bowling Centres rink tournament was contested at various greens, while several city and country clubs hold one-day competitions. At. the Windmill Road Courts the hard court championships of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association were continued.
Golf tournaments were held by various clubs and at Middlemore the Auckland Golf Club's open amateur competition was completed. At Eden Park the final day's play between an Auckland representative cricket team and a colts' eleven was played.
