FEILDING CUP. .About the same time as Kindergarten was recording his sensational Easter Handicap win at Ellerslie another son of Kin- • eardine was leading the field home in the Feildiug Cup. This was Kotua, -who has been racing consistently -well this season. Ridden by D. W. Redstone on Saturday he scored a nice win by a length from the lop-weight, Aniigo. with Mittie third. BROUGHTON'S DAY. The leading jockey, W. J. Broughton. had .5. great day at Wairarapa on Saturday, where he was on four winners, his performances including the hat-trick, by riding the three last winners in succession. He took the Easter Handicap on Lambourn, Kahutara Handicap on Battlegain, Martinborough Handicap on Minority and Ferry Handicap on Beau Ceil. Three of the winners were first favourites. HAUGHTY AT HAWERA. • The victory of Haughty in the Hawcra Trolling Cup on Saturday did not come as a surprise, as it was always recognised that the daughter of Xelson Derby—Regal Voyage was a pacer well above the ordinary. In sis starts prior to Saturday this season she had been a winner iive times, and when paraded for the Hawcra Cup she was made a short-priced favourite. She had no difficulty in disposing of her opponents. and at the judge had a six lengths margin over Betty Boop, who was followed by Musketeer.
