Roosevelt Declares Red Sea
Open To Shipping,

President Roosevelt has declared the Red Sea open to American ships.
President Ko<*-evelt's action in proclaiming the reopening of the lied Sea and the Gulf of Aden to American shipping is warmly welcomed in London, says the British Official Wireless. Shipping will Ik- considerably alleviated when the American ships travel direetlv to ports from which the armies of Kpypt and the Balkans can be supplied.
The authorities in Washington have disclosed that army cargo shi|v; are carrying rubber, hemp and other defence materials from the Dutch Last Indies' and other Oriental ports in order to' free more commercial ships for service, in the Atlantic. I
