BOMB SENSATION IN ISTANBUL.—When Mr. George Rendel. ihe British Ambassador retailed Iron, Bulgaria, armed m Istanbul, Turkey on March Ha bomb explosion occurred at the Pera Palace Hotel where he Was staying. It is thought that it Was concealed in his luggage and Was intended lo wreck his train. AMERICAN LABOUR TROUBLES.—One of the first sirikes to occur after the signing of the Lease or Lend Act Was at the Bethlehem steel plant. On the left is Andrew Pavelicki being sympathised with by fellow strikers after he had been hit on the head when Stale troopers smashed the picket line to permit non-strikers lo enler the plant. Right: "Peaceful picketing" at the works the morning after the Slate troopers and strikers had staged a battle. It will be noticed thai many of them are carrying S American flags under the watchful eye of the troopers.
