HEAVY HOLIDAY TRAFFIC.

A large number of hotels and boarclinghouees had to turn away people, and in many cases public, rooms were used as bedroom* in an attempt to cope with the demand.
A wide range of sportinjr events and entertainments have been provided for visitors to the city, and chief interest no doubt will centre oil the Auckland Racing Club"* autumn meeting which will l>e held at tu-dav and on .Munda v.
