OIL BORING PROGRESS.

MIDHIRST DOWN TO 6185 FT. A bulletin issued by the New Zealand Petroleum Company reports that at Morere (East Coast) bore operations for the recovery of the drill pipe are still continuing. The Midhirst well (Taranakl) has been drilled to a depth of 6185 ft. The formation is hard, grey shale.
