Don't Forget Likely To Add To Record Of 3-Year-Olds In Great Easter

0/.\C£, 1902. when the brilliant Cruciform icon the Great Easter Handicap as a three-year-old with 9st. 9lb. a weightcarrying record for one of his age that has stood the. test of time, fourteen three-year-olds have won the race at Riccarton. 7 here are scl eral likely youngsters in the field this year, and Don t I'or get is selected as being the most likely among them. Sir Crusoe, the top-weight with 9st, raced particularlywell earlier in the season, but his form has since fallen away. At his last start, the Awapuni Gold Cup, he was the runnerup to Kindergarten, but there was no merit in the performance. Doria (Bst 7lb) uas the runner-up to Augment in the mile Thompson Handicap at Trentham carrying Bst, with Don't Forget 7st lllb half a length back. With a furlong less to travel Doria has to concede Sib to Don't Forget, a stiff task if everything was equal. Doria. however, battered herself in an accident returning from Wellington, and has been nursing a hind leg since.

Enrich (Bst 61b), the Stewards' Handicap and New Zealand Derby winner, has shown his best form at Riccarton, and though he has not been seen in a winning light in recent starts, his form has been good enough to suggest that another coup on his favourite course must be regarded as a distinct possibility. Not Out (Bst 51b) is working well and fcis Trentham lapse might well be for-

gotten, as it followed immediately on a stiff winning run in the Peninsula Cup. He is a good horse, seldom found running a poor race. Ilearth (B.st Sib l , also a four-year-old, is one of the best of the mares engaged, and it would not be surprising if she made a game attempt to add to her record of six victories this season. Density (Bst 3lb) should do better than at Waimate, but her form there

suggests that she has lost some of her dash. In winning the race in a grand finish with Duncannon last year she put up the New Zealand record time of lmin 23 1-osec for the seven furlongs. Lord Nuffield, Rebel Mate, and Kentucky are all set to carry Bst 21b. and Kentucky may be the best of them. ! A three-year-old brown colt by Yermeer, Kentucky has improved since being trained bv T. R. George at Trentham, and he put in two good runs at Trentham for victory in the Railway Handicap and third place in the Suburban Handicap. The George stable mayhave a stronger candidate, however, in Circular Note. Has the Qualifications. Don't Forget (7st 131b) appeals as the likely winner. He is a brilliant starter, capable of making the others do their best on a reasonably firm track, and it is doubtful whether any of them will be able to head him off. The track helped to beat him at Trentham, but the racing he had there has hardened him off. Considering his form earlier in the season, Don't Forget is very well placed in the handicap. Night Eruption (7st 111b), a smart Nightmarch mare, has shown excellent sprint form, and on the first day of the Hawke's Bay meeting she returned to the winning list in the Flying Handicap, this being her fourth success for the season. " Find " of Season. Circular Note (7st 10lb), the "find" of the season, had his first run in open company in the Hutt Handicap, being the runner-up to White Rajah. It was his first attempt over one mile, and under his light weight Circular Note should run out the seven furlongs in solid style. Circular Note looks a definite prospect.

DON'T FORGET, ENRICH, NOT OUT are the selections of our Christchurch correspondent.
