BRONWEN RECORDS EXCELLENT SIX.
Excellent efforts by Bronwen. Ascot Bloom, Cambria, Route March and Court Favourite were the -features of the work at Takanini this morning, when the grass track next the rails was cutting out and in consequence few fast times were recorded. Asc-ot Bloom (Beguely) and Cornish (Jackson) were associated over a mile in 1.46 3-5, the first 'half-mile taking 335. Ascot Bloom came right away from Cornish over the concluding stages and finished over a length in front. Surpai (Ferrell) showed a clean pair of heels to Lapidarian (Cleaver) over a mile in 1.40, Lapidarian not Shaping as well as usual.
Tellsom (Quedley), assisted over the last five furlongs -by Palustre (Walters), ran a mile in 1.50 3-o, the last five in 1.7 3-.j.
Tellsom showed little dasli and may have suffered a temporary lapse. Orelio (Hooton), with the assistance of Gold Money Song (Smith) over the last halfmile, ran seven furlongs in 1.32, the last half-mile in 53 3-ss. Orelio was very tender aiterwards and while every effort is -being made to get him to the post on Saturday, his prospects of competing do not look bright. Mysito (MeMinn) was (better than Sealaw (Home) over a similar distance in 1.32 3-5, the first half-mile being run in 50 2-ss. Route March (Smith) defeated Himalaya (MeMinn) by three lengths over five furlongs in 1.4 3-5, similar time being Recorded by Cambria (Hooton) and Arvafcur (Horne), who finished together at the end. of their task. River Plate (Coleman) was half a length in front of Miss Gay (Petley) in 1.4 4-5. Court Favourite , (Beguely) was eight lengths in front of Brazen Bold (Gray) at the end of seven furlongs in. 1.32, but Brazen. Bold was not unduly bustled after traversing his first half-mile in 49 3-ss. He is looking well. Kinvara (Xaylor) assisted the abovementioned pair over the first five furlongs. An outstanding gallop over six furlongs was credited to Bronwen (R. E. Horne), >wifab ran 1.16 2-5, after traversing the first three in 375. Bronwen -worked attractively.
