"I have reason to (believe that the employees of a large Wellington factory have ibeen told by their union that the doctors have collapsed in their opposition to the national health insurance scheme, and to send in their cards," said Sir Donald McGavin, of Wellington, chairman of the council of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association, to-night. "If this were to bo noieed abroad doctors might be misled into signing the cards.

"As chairman of the. Dominion Council of the British Medical Association," continued Sir Donald, "I am in a position to give this rumour a categorical denial. The attitude of the association its unchanged. Members all over New Zealand arc standing loyally 'behind the association.*'
