LIFE MEMBERSHIP AS REWARD FOR ATHLETIC SERVICES.
"Thero is no doubt but that you put amateur athletics on the map 'in N«w Zealand," said Mr. A. C. Kitto at this week's meeting in Wellington of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association council in presenting to Mr. R. W. McVilly a gold medallion in recognition of his life membership of the association. This was the first such honour awarded by the association two years ajro. Mr. 11. I. Anstad presented to Mr. Kitto a similar medallion, Mr. Kitto and Mr. W. Morton (Auckland) having been elected life members last year.. Life membership wa,s the recognition of a lifetime of work and achievement in any organisation, stated Mr. Auetad.
