HONGKONG MARKETS

POSSIBILITY MENTIONED. (0.C.) ROTORUA, Monday. Speaking to-day at the Rotorua Rotary Club luncheon of the restricted markets for New Zealand meat and butter exports, Mr. 11. 11. Pegg, a civil servant for the past 27 years' in Hongkong, euggested that Hongkong, with its population of 1,000,000, many of them white, -would be a market worth exploring by New Zealand. Celery and fruit, meat and such shell fish as tinned oyeters would find a ready sale there, ho said. Many of these commodities were at present imported from the United States.

"I don't suggest that yon would gain fancy prices for your produce,' , ho added, "but I Ihink it would be a remunerative t:ade."
