PERSONAL.
Colonel A. B. William*. D.5.0., Royal New Zealand Artillery, travelled south last night. The Rev. W. Elliott, minister of the Whangarei Presbyterian Church for the paet 11 years, has accepted a call to St. James' Church, Wellington. The Hon. B. C. Bobbins, M.L.C., ! arrived at Auckland on the Limited express this morning. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, a member of the War Cabinet, will travel to Wellington by train to-night, having viewed the military manoeuvres in the North. Mr. S. Austin Carr will be a passenger ' to Wellington on the Limited express to-night. f Meesrs. W. S. Gooeman and W. J. Broadfoot, M.P.. will travel to the South by train to-night. Mr. C. A. Barrell. M.P., arrived at Auckland by train this morning and will travel south by the Limited express to-night. Mr. John Day, a Pan-American Airways meteorologist, arrived at Auckland on the American Clipper yesterday from Honolulu. He will succeed Mr. E. B. Buxton when the latter'e term at Auckland expires. The Rer. T. ~W. Armour, of Knox Church, Ohristchurcfa. convener of the maintenance of the ministry committee, and Mr. W. Goodfellow, of Auckland, member of the laymen's executive, travelled to Hamilton to-day to continue organising a campaign for the increase of Presbyterian Church stipends. They will later visit the Bay of Plenty. lieutenant S. C. Hay, assistant area officer at No. 1 (Auckland) Area, has been: promoted captain. Major G. R. Blackett, M.C., formerly assistant area officer at Auckland, has returned to New Zealand from duty overseas.
